New Year. More Miles.

Happy New Year! I can’t believe how fast 2014 flew by!

Last year, I made a few running and fitness goals. (Shown below)

  1. Run at least 2 Half-Marathons
  2. Run a Half-Marathon under 2 hours and 15 minutes
  3. Run over 200 Miles in 2014
  4. Eat clean, cut out processed food as much as possible.
  5. Give up Chocolate for one month. (This will be extremely hard, since I’m addicted)
  6. Bike 100 Miles in a MS Bike Tour
  7. Run a Marathon.

Unfortunately I was only able to complete one out of the eight.  I had a handful of setbacks in 2014 with running injuries and illnesses. Needless to say 2014 wasn’t my year for wellness.

But that’s okay. Because, now I’m able to stick to the goals I made in 2014 and complete them this year.

Without further to do, here’s my new personal fitness goals for 2015…

1. Run a Marathon
2. Bike 180 Miles for Children’s Miracle Networks. I must raise $450 before I can bike. Here is my fundraising page.
3. Run over 300 miles
4. Run at least two half-marathons
5. Strengthen shins and overall muscles

My main focus this year will be training for my first-ever marathon. I am planning to run 26.2 in the Fall.

So here’s to another wonderful year of health and fitness!

2014 so far…

I can’t say I’ve been able to run as much as I wanted to this month. Some of the reasons include the weather, and the other is being sick.

I started off January 1st with a 72 hour flu  then continued to be stuck in my home from the weather. No mileage was covered for about a week until I was able to go somewhere.

Luckily once the weather emergencies were lifted, I was able to go to my gym and run, quickly putting my running schedule back on track.

Until today.
This morning I woke up with a dry cough and chest pains. Being an asthmatic I knew I needed to get right on this. So after two hours at the doctors today, I’ve been diagnosed with bronchitis. No running for me, for at least a week.

Even though I’m sick, I’m beyond happy it’s not H1N1.

So, now I’m taking it easy and hoping to get better quickly! I also want to post this chart I found on Pinterest, for anyone who’s dealing with the flu or like-symptoms.

I hope everyone stays warm, washes there hands, and takes lots of Vitamin C!

Stay Positive Everyone! Have a good Tuesday…and stay inside if you’re sick!

New Year. New Miles.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve, and spent quality time with friends and family!

It’s officially 2014 and what better way to start the year off, then making a few goals?

Last night, I wrote down my personal fitness goals for the new year, and I’d love to share them with you!

Rejoicing, Reminiscing, and Returning

Hi blogging world! Did you miss me?

Now that my (insert synonym for busy here) semester/exams are finally over, I’m back!

And I’m so ready to start seriously training again for my upcoming races in the spring. With this being said, means more training plans for everyone! Over my break, I’ll be working on some pretty awesome plans for runners who are just beginning to race, and runners like me who are ready to take the next step.

2014 is only 11 days away! AH! So many things to complete before the years over!

Have you started thinking of New Year resolutions yet? If so, how do you plan on sticking to them? Comment below!
